Tools and techniques for palaeoclimate reconstruction

There will be a special seminar on palaeoclimate reconstruction which should be of particular relevance for RG6 and RG7 members (but any other members of Bjerknes would also be welcome to attend). There will be two 25 minute talks from two excellent speakers (biographies below):

Eric Grimm (University of Minnesota) - "The Neotoma Paleoecology Database: Community-led Cyberinfrastructure for Global Change Research”
Steve Jackson (Director, South West Climate Science Center, Arizona) - "Do paleoclimate proxies measure paleoclimate?”

Bergen Polar Express by the Polar network

On Wednesday May 10, from 11:00 - 12:00 the Polar Network at UiB will have an "Express" overview of recent Polar Research from Bergen. The event is planned in
the new auditorium in the GFI West Wing.

This is a "farewell" present to the new director at the Norwegian Polar Institute - Ole Arve Misund,who has been a member of the network. This is an open event - everybody
is welcome.

Nansen Guest Lecture by Fiamma Straneo: Greenland Ice Sheet/Ocean Interactions: the ocean as a driver and a receiver

Fiamma Straneo is Senior Scientist in the Physical Oceanography Department at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She studies the high latitude North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans and their interaction with the atmosphere, sea-ice and the Greenland Ice Sheet
